Hi there! Hope you all had a great holiday weekend (or a regular weekend for those of you outside the United States). We’re back today with an all-new roundup of horror and sci-fi releases coming home today, and it includes a whole range of titles. One of my favorite films of the year – Everything everywhere all at once by The Daniels – has been released in 4K as well as Blu-ray and DVD and if you’re looking to indulge in even more 4K entertainment, edge of tomorrow also gets the 4K treatment.

Kino Lorber is busy this week with a range of classic Blu-headed titles, including Tarantulas: the deadly cargo, the ants! (aka it happened at Lakewood Manor) and Terror Out of the Sky (aka Revenge of the Savage Bees)and IFC also publishes Ruth Paxton’s A banquet on Blu-ray and DVD today as well.

Other July 5 releases include Baby Oopsie, Last Caller, Silent But Deadly (which is probably the biggest name for a movie, let alone a movie about a killer mime), Gore grind they talk and Last caller.

A banquet (IFC Movies, Blu-ray and DVD)

A mother is radically tested when her teenage daughter insists a supernatural experience has left her body in service to a higher power.

Ants! (aka it happened at Lakewood Manor) (Kino Lorber, Blu-ray)

A hill station is ravaged by deadly force in this terrifying tale of Mother Nature’s vengeance: Ants!, aka It Happened at Lakewood Manor. Expecting a weekend of luxurious self-indulgence, visitors to the ritzy Lakewood Manor soon find they’re the entrance of the day for an army of malevolent ants with an appetite for human flesh. When these killer critters eat toxic insecticides, they don’t die, they just get meaner. The holidays are no picnic in this cult eco-horror classic. The delightful cast includes Suzanne Somers (TV’s Three’s Company), Robert Foxworth (The Black Marble), Lynda Day George (TV’s Fear No Evil), Bernie Casey (TV’s The Martian Chronicles), Barry Van Dyke (TV’s Diagnosis Murder), Steve Franken (The Party), Karen Lamm (Trackdown) and Brian Dennehy (F/X) with a special appearance from celluloid great Myrna Loy (Love Me Tonight). Directed by TV veteran Robert Scheerer (TV’s Kolchak: The Night Stalker).

Killed within minutes, Cage is thrown into a time loop, forced to experience the same brutal fight over and over, fighting and dying over and over again. Training alongside Rita Vrataski (Emily Blunt), her skills slowly evolve and each battle brings them one step closer to defeating the enemy in this intense action thriller.

Everything everywhere all at once (Lionsgate, 4K Ultra HD/Blu-ray/Digital, Blu-ray/Digital and DVD)

A hilarious, big-hearted sci-fi action adventure about an exhausted Chinese-American woman (Michelle Yeoh) who is swept up on a wild adventure across the multiverse.

Tarantulas: The Deadly Cargo (Kino Lorber, Blu-ray)

A chilling tale of terror begins when two Americans fly to Ecuador to pick up a shipment of premium coffee beans. Unbeknownst to them, the cargo contains hundreds of deadly stowaways: gigantic poisonous tarantulas. When the plane crashes in a small California town, the furry monsters escape and wreak havoc on the unsuspecting residents. Beware the spooky arachno-horror lurking in Tarantulas: The Deadly Cargo. Claude Akins (Tentacles), Charles Frank (The Right Stuff), Deborah Winters (The People Next Door), Bert Remsen (Code of Silence), Pat Hingle (The Falcon and the Snowman), Tom Atkins (Halloween III: Season of the Witch) and Howard Hesseman (Honky Tonk Freeway) are among the victims of the eight-legged evil.
