Fever 333 released their first album Strength in numbness333rs in January 2019 and they have been on the road ever since. Now in an interview with NMEsinger Jason Aalon Butler reveals that the band are working on what they call a “genre-defining album” that they’ve wanted to hear all their life.

“It’s here. I’m packing the album next month, and I’m very excited about it,” said Butler. “All the self-aggrandizement elements aside, for better or worse and people love it or hate it, I feel like I’ve created my idea of a genre-defining album. I’ve wanted to hear all my life.

“I’ve finally created songs and elements of what it really means to me. I’m really excited to deliver something that doesn’t necessarily fit into a location, but rather runs concurrently in progress what art and music is. Something in its own way, hopefully.”

Butler said the album covers everything from metal to hardcore, rap and hip-hop, with “a bit of trip-hop, a bit of break”. Although he makes it clear that it’s not just a hodgepodge of a bunch of genres for the sake of being different.

“I really find a space that’s authentic to me and then apply it, rather than sampling genres and pulling things off the shelf, throwing them in the jar and hoping they work. These are the most authentic representations I can offer.”

No specific timeline for the album is readily available, however. Butler notes that new music should be released before the end of this year.
