Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren face off in this franchise-launched 90s sci-fi action flick.

Das Boot – Turner Classic Movies – 23h

This German WWII drama set on a submarine is widely regarded as one of the best war films of all time.

World War Z – Film4 – 11:15 p.m.

Our Pick for Tonight, Brad Pitt stars in this big-budget adaptation of Max Brooks’ best-selling novel as a former UN field worker called back to work to investigate a zombie pandemic.

Possibly the greatest entry of all time to the horror subgenre, World War Z boasts a charismatic twist and some thrilling action pieces.

The Maze Runner – Canal 4 – 11:30 p.m.

The first entry in the sci-fi film series for young adults.

Movie stars don’t die in Liverpool – RTÉ One – 11:50 p.m.

In this acclaimed biographical drama, a romance breaks out between a young actor (Jamie Bell) and a Hollywood grande dame (Annette Bening) in 1970s Liverpool.

Me, Daniel Blake – RTÉ2 – 11:50 p.m.

This powerful drama from filmmaker Ken Loach centers around a 59-year-old carpenter (Dave Johns) who, after surviving a heart attack, must fight bureaucratic forces to receive employment and support allowance.

Midnight Special – BBC One – 12:30 a.m.

This excellent science fiction tells the story of a father (Michael Shannon) and a son on the run, pursued by the government and a cult attracted by the special powers of the child.
