A group of rock music fans who supported each other during Lockdown will gather at the Victoria Bikers Pub, Coalville, on October 21 and 22, for a weekend of live music, supporting new rock bands and small venues.

The rock music-themed Facebook group – Quarantune Rocks – was created in March 2020, as rock fans and gig buddies responded to the Covid-19 Lockdown.

Founding members Karen Clayton, Pamela Hinchliffe and Jen Morrin have created a space for rock fans to share and discuss their favorite bands while they wait for live music to return.

Says Pamela: “We really thought we would only need the band for a few weeks, to keep us going while we missed going to our beloved gigs. Little did we know it would be 18 months before live music returned and by then our community was more like a rock family.

“What started as a small group of friends quickly grew into a thriving rock-based online community as word spread, with an unwavering mantra to support bands and small venues alike. in any way possible, including donating proceeds from our ‘Rocking Lockdown’ t-shirts, and finally hosting our own one-day music event for the first time in October 2021.”

The QR family will be traveling from across the country to show their support for the live music scene. The line-up is an impressive roster of bands from the new wave of the classic rock genre.

For this year’s non-profit event, the QR team has selected some of the best new music, with performances from nine bands over two days with headlining appearances from Ashley Sherlock Band (fresh from their performance at the Great British R&B Festival in Lancashire) and Bastette (who rocked crowds this year supporting Phil Campbell & The Bastard Sons and The Kris Barras Band).

Quarantune Rocks weekend is October 21-22, 2022 in Coalville.

Karen Clayton says, “We are thrilled and excited to host another weekend of live music. Last year we were all still partying to celebrate the return of live music, and this year we are able to make it a two day event with even more bands to perform in a small music hall legendary. And it’s going ROCK!”
